Just one more....alright, maybe two; Kayaks are sweet, droughts are not...

Racing is back, just for this weekend. The Bear Creek Short Track Series Finals presented by South Mountain Cycles are fast approaching. The final races of the season will be held this coming Saturday, the 27th. The start time has been pushed back to 3pm in order to accommodate for yet another South Mountain event, a 'cross race, earlier that morning. I'm not sure on the details for the first race but give SMC a call to find out more. Plans are to do both races as long as MTB's are permitted in the off-road road race. The short track race is being held during the Bear Creek Fall Festival so even if your not racing, it should be a good time. Music, food, and bikes guarantees a blasty for all. The event flier isn't very helpful but here it is, http://www.skibearcreek.com/summer/custEvent.aspx

I put in a solid 10 hours on the kayak this weekend. It was awesome. Its sorta like riding bikes, you can make it as easy or hard as you want. I went down the Perkiomen Creek all three days. Its pretty calm with a few rougher sections and lots of rocks to steer around. The only downside was the lack of rainfall the past few weeks. The lower water levels made it impossible to miss all the rocks and not get hung up in a few spots. After a solid rain storm the Perk should be perfect.

Don't forget, bicycle races are coming your way; so forget all your duties, oh yeah....
